I wanted to write on behalf of the governing body to say a huge ‘Thank you’ for all your support over the past few weeks. As you can imagine it has been a challenging time for everyone at school, ensuring that all our staff and pupils remain as safe as possible.
It is also the responsibility of the governing body to ensure that our new headteacher is able to plan for our school’s future adequately. As a result of COVID-19 and the measures that have been put in place over the past few months to reduce risk, we have found it difficult to complete our usual procedures and meetings to help Mr Marshall as he takes on his new post.
In order to make sure that we are ready for the new academic year and the potential difficulties we may still be facing; we need to provide staff with the opportunity to meet with our new head and for him to share his ideas and thoughts. Therefore, we will be closing school early, for ALL PUPILS, including key worker children on Thursday 2nd July. School will finish between 1.45pm and 2.00pm. Please collect your child between these times. This will allow staff to meet as a group in one of our open spaces but vacate school in sufficient time to allow our cleaning team to access every room in preparation for the next day.
We would like to thank you for your support in this matter. Once we have received further guidance from the local authority regarding the plans for the next academic year Mr Marshall will be writing to you.
Thank you again
Chair of Governors
