Dear Parents / Carers
As we draw ever nearer to the end of the Summer term in what has been a very unusual academic year, I want to update you with regards to staffing changes.
Mr Marshall the schools new Head teacher will take up post from September 1st 2020. He will be meeting staff this week to share his plans for the school moving forward.
Several staff will be leaving at the end of term.
Mrs Calvert will be retiring at the end of this term. Anne has been an incredibly loyal member of staff having worked at Belle Vue for 26 years in total. She has worked under 3 Head teachers in Mrs Compson, Mrs Phipps and myself. Anne has been a member of the senior leadership team and literacy co-ordinator for a substantial period of time alongside mentoring newly qualified teachers. Anne was instrumental in developing our links with a school in the Gambia leading to visits by teachers, teaching assistants, Governors, parents and a child from our school to Bakau school. In return our pupils have seen teachers from the Gambia visit us.
All of this has led to significant work taking place within school on sustainability and global dimensions including pupil conferences involving schools further afield. I would personally like to thank Anne for all of her hard work and dedication and I am sure you will join with me in wishing her a happy and well earned retirement.
The school will also be saying farewell to Mrs Hodgetts and Mrs Hudson who work in KS 1 and Early Years respectively. Karen has been at the school for 14 years and alongside her teaching assistant duties, Karen has been proactive in developing our mental health support for pupils offering activities and time out for those with worries as well as becoming the schools mental health first aider. I know parents who have worked with Mrs Hodgetts have appreciated the support.
Tracey Hudson has been a key member of our Early Years team for the past 5 years. I know Mrs Richardson her team, the children and parents will miss her smile each morning. We wish both Karen and Tracey all our best as they move on to new adventures.
Finally two of our School cleaning team will be retiring. Sue Hopkins and Linda Andrews will be leaving the work place after many years of service. Sue has doubled as a midday supervisor as well and her love for the children has each day been clear to see. Again we wish both Sue and Linda a very happy retirement.
